Tamoil SA and Avolta celebrate the Opening of the Herrlisberg Nord service area

Two and a half years after Tamoil SA was awarded the 30-year concession for its operation, it celebrated the official opening of Herrlisberg Nord on October 23rd. This marks the first collaboration between Tamoil SA and the leading global travel experience player Avolta AG, resulting in a one-stop concept for catering, convenience and refueling, distinguished by its contemporary design and focus on locally-sourced ingredients. The service area is located on the A3 Highway, connecting Sargans with Basel, on the upper left bank of Lake Zurich.

Herrlisberg Nord will not only be the largest service station in German-speaking Switzerland for Tamoil SA, but will also implement innovative sustainability measures. It is equipped with heat pumps and is also solar-powered. With 580 solar panels covering an area of 1832 m2, a significant portion of the electricity needed to power the service area will be generated on-site. TAMOIL’s traditional fuel offerings, including a dedicated area for HGVs with high-flow diesel pumps, are complemented by 4 ultra-rapid EV chargers (300 kW) that can charge 8 vehicles simultaneously. With a power connection extensible up to 7’000 ampere, the Herrlisberg motorway service area boasts one of the largest capacities in the canton of Zurich, allowing for the installation and use of up to 23 charging stations.

The culinary offering is extensive and focuses on locally sourced products. Holy Cow! offers its ‘swiss made’ gourmet burgers, while in the GranBar one can enjoy a cup of the famous Italian Kimbo coffee, as well as fresh pastries and panini, which are prepared several times a day with ingredients from local suppliers. Avolta also operates a SPAR express, which is open around the clock. Both motorists and local residents will want for nothing!

Herrlisberg Nord is characterised by its contemporary and modern design. The extensive use of wood and glass creates a warm and light-flooded atmosphere for guests.
