The Collombey-Muraz refinery from every angle

Through a series of striking photographs, the Collombey-Muraz refinery (VS) was immortalised in all its grandeur before its dismantling. The suspension of its operations took place in 2015, followed by its dismantling, currently still ongoing. 

Indeed, a number of privileged artists have had the opportunity to explore the site, a symbol of an industrial past that is about to fade away. Their photographs perfectly capture the very essence of this former industrial bastion, covering some 120 hectares - one of the largest single industrial sites in Switzerland. 

You will see photographic works by artists David Bard, Bernard Dubuis, Lea Lund & Erik K and Jean-Marc Yersin. 

This exhibition - entitled “Raffinerie - la fin d’une ère” - is open until April 5th, 2024, at the Crochetan Gallery in Monthey.
